Workplace Mediation, is a process which is:
  • Voluntary
  • Confidential
  • Impartial and independent
  • Enables participants to decide mutually acceptable outcomes
 
The process can assist resolve or reduce difficulties which have arisen within the workplace. It can be effective in encouraging individuals to discuss and explore their difficulties and concerns within a safe and informal environment, which in turn can
  • improve communication
  • clarify individual perceptions
  • identify the impact behaviour can have on others
  • develop work place relationships
 
The potential outcomes of Workplace Mediation can assist the participants, their extended colleagues, employers and HR Managers.
How does Workplace Mediation Work?

The Mediator will speak to each potential participant, individually. They will explore and establish any concerns that they may have along with any potential outcomes they may have identified. These meetings help the Mediator to establish an individuals willingness to engage within the process and whether the difficulties experienced are suitable for Workplace Mediation.
 
If Workplace Mediation is a process all participants wish to engage and the Mediator feels is appropriate to be utilised a joint meeting will be arranged (at the workplace, remotely or at an agreed confidential location)  to enable participants to:
  • speak openly
  • share what is important to them
  • listen to others without judgement
  • consider options on how they can move forward
  • reality test any outcome established by the participants (not determined by the Mediator)
  • determine what if any information about the outcome of the process is shared with employers and HR Managers
​The role of the Mediator in Workplace Mediation
Our trained and specialist Mediators are independent and impartial to the participants within and throughout the Mediation process. It is their role to help participants manage the Mediation process, providing them with a safe environment to explore options available in their specific circumstances. 
 
Mediators provide impartial information. They can not:
  • provide advice
  • determine the outcome of the process
  • impose decisions
  • make judgement
 
How long does the Mediation process take?
 
The process can be tailored to your needs.
 
Mediation Sessions will be arranged at mutually convenient times and dates.
 
How is Workplace Mediation funded?
 
The process is funded by an employer.

​Professional Practice Consultant (PPC)
 
I am an Accredited Mediator Registered with the Family Mediation Council (FMC) and a Member of An FMC Member Organisation.
 
In 2015 I qualified as a PPC and since this date has complied with the renewal and reaccreditation requirements and FMC PPC Code of Practice. This has enabled me to support Mediators in renewing their Accreditation and those Working towards Accreditation.
 
All Mediators who are Accredited or Working Awards Accreditation with the Family Mediation Council are required to have PPC.
